History

Since 1914, the Fuller family of Auburn, MA has a rich history rooted in the automotive repair industry, spanning several generations and exemplifying a legacy of entrepreneurship, community service, and innovation.

Early Days (1920s-1950s)

The Fuller family’s involvement in the automotive repair business began in 1914, when automobiles were first becoming popular. At the time, Auburn was a small, tight-knit community, and cars were a luxury. The Fuller family, seeing the potential of this new technology, established a small auto repair shop to cater to the few car owners in the area.

The family business was founded on the principles of hard work, integrity, and building strong customer relationships—values that would continue to guide them for decades.

Growing with the Community (1950s-1990s)

By the 1950s, the Fuller family had become well-known in the Auburn community for their expertise in automotive repair and their commitment to customer satisfaction. During this period, they officially established Fuller Automotive and Towing, a business that would come to be synonymous with high-quality automotive services in the region.

The shop expanded its offerings to include not only mechanical repairs but also car sales, bodywork, painting, a gas station, and regular auto maintenance services. As the business grew, so did its reputation. The Fullers prided themselves on their deep connection to the Auburn community, frequently sponsoring local events, supporting youth sports teams, and participating in town initiatives.

The shop became a trusted establishment for generations of families who relied on them for honest advice and reliable service.

Embracing Technology (1990s-2010s)

The Fuller family’s dedication to the business carried through multiple generations. Each generation brought new innovations, new auto businesses and new ideas, keeping them relevant in a rapidly changing industry.

From adapting to new automotive technologies and environmental regulations to expanding their services to include advanced diagnostics, car dealerships, custom vehicle accessories, rental cars, used cars and importantly, collision repair, the family consistently invested in training their technicians and state-of-the-art equipment.

Expansion into Fuller Collision Group

Today, Fuller Collision Group and Fuller Automotive are still family-owned and operated businesses, maintaining the legacy that began over a century ago.

Fuller Automotive offers everything from routine maintenance and inspection stickers to complex mechanical repairs and a full-service tire center. Fuller Collision Group provides specialized auto body repair and rental cars in both Auburn and Spencer locations. All businesses operate in modern, fully equipped service centers throughout central MA that reflect the family’s commitment to excellence and customer care. Despite their continued growth, the companies retain their small-town charm.

Present Day

The current generation of Fullers continues to uphold the family’s longstanding tradition of delivering quality work, maintaining honesty, ensuring dependability, and actively engaging in community involvement. They have earned a reputable position in their industry, known not only for their exceptional technical expertise but also for their unique approach to customer relations and employee engagement. This commitment to treating customers and employees like family creates an atmosphere of trust and loyalty—an ethos that has been central to their enduring success and the strong bonds they have cultivated within the community.

The Road Ahead

As we look to the future with optimism and determination, we remain steadfastly committed to our founding principles of quality, integrity, and exceptional customer care.
