For a simpler overview of our family history, we’ve created this timeline. Above all, it will help you understand how the Fuller business has evolved over the years, and how we’ve invested in our name and our growth to ensure the best service for our community here in Auburn MA.

The Fuller Family History

It was 1914 and a repair expert dedicated to providing horse and buggy repairs in Worcester, MA, started offering his expertise to the community. The humble family business started with Willis Fuller, who laid the groundwork for decades of ongoing learning and improvement that would increase the safety of local drivers. Even in those earliest years, the Fuller name was associated with trust and quality repairs. That reputation was the foundation for all future success, and the most precious asset preserved with every Fuller generation to follow.

Willis Fuller and his brilliant foundation

Willis was well ahead of his time and able to recognize emerging trends that would bring new tools and technologies in both auto body and mechanical repair. He noticed the rising popularity of automobiles among customers and quickly adapted his skillset to meet his customers’ needs. His was the first among all Auburn auto repair shops to embrace new repair methods and upgrade whenever an opportunity arose. More often than not, he would spot the need for innovation and adapted his business well before his competition.

Freeman Fuller honoring the family legacy

Skilled and experienced, Willis Fuller passed on the trade to his son Freeman, who opened the second Auburn auto body shop in 1941. Continuing the family tradition of innovation and exceptional customer service, Freeman moved the facility to its landmark location on Auburn St. in 1951. Already several decades in the making, the Fuller repair center in Auburn MA was quickly becoming a staple of the community.

Richard Fuller expanding the business reach

Further down the family tree, Freeman’s son Richard took the business another step further and opened the Route 20 location. He also added more service branches to make sure the Fuller family can help the entire Worcester county community rely on their reputable repair work.
